The Early Childhood Institute provides a comprehensive selection of resources for early childhood educators. Our curriculum and standards resources for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers include classroom floor plans, sample materials and books lists, sample letters to parents, weekly plans, activity plans, songs, and finger plays. We also provide links to Mississippi’s Early Learning Guidelines and Early Learning Standards (PreK Common Core). The gross and fine motor activities series includes activity plans designed to enhance physical development for children from birth through 12 years.
The “Quick Peeks at Good Practice” video series provides teachers and parents with examples of high quality environments and experiences for young children. This webpage includes a user guide and a link to the video series.
The Quality Stars manuals include complete lists of the required criteria for child care and preK programs participating in Mississippi’s quality rating and improvement system. Information about the Quality Stars program can be found at http://earlychildhood.msstate.edu/programs/qualitystars/index.php.
The college transfer guide provides information about associate degree courses that can be applied to a baccalaureate degree in either child development or early childhood education.
