Cheryl Swoopes Research Associate II
Cheryl Swoopes has served as the Research Associate II with the Statewide Family Literacy Initiative for the Early Childhood Institute since August 2001. Prior to joining the Early Childhood Institute she was employed with Starkville School Districts Student Support Services as the Positive Behavioral Specialist and Assessment Facilitator. Additional work experiences with Starkville School District include serving as the Family Centered Programs Family Specialist and Coordinator of Child Abuse Prevention program. In addition to working with children and families, she served as an Adult Case Manager with Region Seven Mental Health Community Counseling Service.
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Educational Psychology and a Master of Science degree in Special Education with an emphasis on Emotional Behavioral Disorders from Mississippi State University. Cheryl is married to Patrick and they have four children Patrick II, Courtney, and twins Chelse and Chasity.
