Gena R. Puckett

Gena R. Puckett is is a technical assistant for licensed child care centers throughout north Mississippi and in Harrison County on the coast as part of the Leaders in Literacy initiative of the Mississippi State University Early Childhood Institute.

Before joining the institute in 2006, Ms. Puckett was a Head Start teacher and administrator of a Head Start center.  She also is a certified sign language instructor. In that capacity, she trains early childhood teachers as well as parents and children to use sign language. 

She lives in Mooreville, Mississippi, with her husband James and son James Michael.
