Mississippi Child Care Quality Step System

Deana Sanders began working as a Technical Assistant with the Right From Birth project in April 2006.  She currently provides technical assistance in the Golden Triangle area as part of the Barksdale Reading Institute Leaders in Literacy Phase II project.  Before joining the ECI staff, Deana resided in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she worked as an Early Intervention Special Instructor, working with infants and toddlers with developmental delays.  She has also worked as an Early Childhood teacher at the National Council of Negro Women of Greater New Orleans childcare center, as well as a Head Start teacher with Total Community Action of New Orleans.  Deana and her daughter, DeAnna have resided in the MSU area since relocating there after Hurricane Katrina.  In her spare time, she enjoys reading novels, cooking, and going skating with her daughter.
